Food Detectives

Did you ever wonder if your mother was telling you the truth when she told that swallowed gum would stay in your stomach forever? Ted Allen, author of the book "The Food You Want To Eat" and regular judge on Top Chef is the host of a new program on the Food Network called Food Detectives.

Food Detectives has Ted and his crew of culinary sleuths testing some common (and perhaps uncommon) food myths. Viewers can submit their questions to Ted and he and his detective team will pick some of the best to feature on the show. Questions can be submitted via email or with a video on the Food Network web site.

In each episode of Food Detectives Ted and friends will conduct experiments designed to disprove, or prove, food myths. It's an interesting show to watch and to find out once and for all if you can eat food that's been on the floor as long as you do it before it's been there for five seconds.
