Survivor
Survivor is one of the most popular reality shows, not only in the United States, but also around the world. It was one of the first shows that really cause people to sit up and take notice of reality television. The contestants are isolated to a remote area, usually an island. They are divided into tribes and compete against each other for cash and prizes. Some prizes are food, raingear, even luxury items such as vacations. Some challenges are immunity challengers. These are very important as each week the tribal council meets to vote out one person. Players vote in secret then at the end of the voting, host Jeff Probst reads out each name. The player with the most votes must leave and Jeff announces, "The tribe has spoken."
The final nine players who are eliminated form the jury. This jury helps decide who the final winner is when there are just two contestants remaining. The winner receives one million dollars and an automobile. Players are prohibited from conspiring to split any winnings, as they are on Big Brother.
There have been 15 seasons of Survivor to date.
** The latest person eliminated on Survivor China was Frosti.
